WordPress guru needed

thedarkagesI am having the following problem setting up WordPress:
I have successfully gotten through step one of my install of WP 2.7.1. I have installed it at http://www.jkcohen.com/wordpress/. However, when I enter my admin name and password into the login screen that follows (wp-login.php), the data is posted to the malformed URL http://www.jkcohen.com/?step=2/wp-login.php, leading to a 501 Not Implemented error from the web server. What is wrong? How can I successfully log in?
I can't offer much by way of reward, but a Starbuck's or Peet's coffee card would be forthcoming to the person with a solution.
