ZYZZYVA postcard
Oct. 23rd, 2006 04:37 pmThe thought of Howard Junker standing over a pile of god-knows-how-many postcards, signing "Thanks, H." to each, is too moving to ignore. It's definitely him; I got a fine personal rejection letter from him about three months ago in the same handwriting. I doubt that he has one of those automatic signing machines like the President has.
The postcard lists ten ways to help the state of literature.
The salient ones are these:
7. Link to our website, http://www.zyzzyva.org/.
6. Check in to http://zyzzyvaspeaks.blogspot.com/ every day.
5. Mention us in your blog.
Done, done, and done.
Zyzzyva is one of the two or three best-edited literary journals out there. Its tone is unsentimental, transgressive, but playful. I shill for it gladly.
