More computer antics
Mar. 31st, 2006 05:50 pmMy readers, all six or seven of them, are probably sick and tired of computer-related posts from me. Well, what do you expect, botany?
The computer got here last night -- at 8:00 PM. What is UPS doing by giving its drivers routes with 190 stops? It's obviously tormenting its drivers, who have to deliver packages late into the night in order to get their jobs done. I can't blame the guy; he was remarkably chipper, considering that he had been in his van for eleven hours and that the box with the computer was a nightmare to move.
As per my repentance of a few days back, it is underpowered; the Sandra benchmarks show that the dual-core machines beat the crap out of it. It is remarkably easy to set up out of the box. Best of all, it is almost completely silent; my old machine sounded like a wind tunnel by comparison. It makes a big difference.
It's a great relief to have a computer again; it's absolutely indispensable.
