A mystery explained

I have been on the net since 1988 -- not a vast amount of time, as these things go, but I've seen some major Septembers come and depart. In all this time, I have never cared to look at Technorati. I still don't, but now I know that it is the reason why a certain literary magazine editor of note keeps commenting on posts with his or his magazine's name in them. If he read some of my other posts, perhaps he would be more interested in my writing.

There is a certain degree of narcissism in Googling yourself, and I think that principle is applicable here.
