I took my first step into the world of P2P today. My goodness, it feels shady! My fear of copyright litigation is only exceeded by Beth's, so my first download was the KNOPPIX 4.0.2 DVD -- the RIAA and MPAA can't exactly complain about that. The problem with file sharing, when you've downloaded a 3.2 Gb ISO file, is that it's like running up an enormous bill on your credit card. Cox only gives me a miserly 40 Kb/second upload speed, so it is going to take months to get my ratio over 1 and cease being a leech. Until then, I can't download anything further in good faith. I can't argue with the principle; as they say in Piers Plowman, redde quod debes -- pay what you owe.
