Open Letter To Barack Obama
Jul. 2nd, 2008 11:04 amDear Senator Obama:
I am disturbed by the rightward turn your campaign has taken in recent weeks. You won the nomination based on the hopes and dreams of the progressives in your party, and now you are repudiating them in favor of pursuing evangelicals and Reagan Republicans. This has shattered my belief in you. If I wanted an opportunistic, vote-chasing, pandering right-wing politician, I would have voted for Hillary. Now, you seem to have made my choice no choice at all. You can take my vote for granted, but you are not getting a penny more of my money or a minute's worth of my effort.
Please, step back from your cynically calculated strategy, and remember that you promised to work for change. That means progressive change.
